Galaxy Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel Painter on behalf of our client — a fast-growing, forward-thinking structural steel fabricator based in Melbourne’s southeast.

The company delivers complex, large-scale projects across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors — including hospitals, warehouses, airports, petrochemical facilities, and mining infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a modern, fast-paced workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare structural steel surfaces (grinding, sanding, blasting)
• Apply industrial coatings using spray and manual painting techniques
• Operate and maintain spray booths, tools, and equipment
• Perform quality touch-ups and inspections
• Liaise with the area supervisor to coordinate dispatch of painted components
• Adhere strictly to safety and quality control standards

What You’ll Bring

• At least 2 years of experience in steel or industrial painting
• Experience using overhead cranes and forklifts (forklift licence highly regarded)
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality finishes
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed job instructions
• Reliable work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in a workshop or fabrication setting
