About the role

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters for various Labour Hire opportunities across the Melbourne Metropolitan area, we currently have vacancies available on all shifts. These roles are based in the food industry, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable production. Roles vary in tenure from 1 week to ongoing, with some fantastic opportunities that could lead to permanency.

What you’ll be doing

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of FOOD production equipment
Diagnose, troubleshoot faults
Liaise with production teams to understand operational requirements and minimise disruptions
Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures
Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all health and safety regulations

What we’re looking for

Qualified Fitter, with 3+ years’ experience with a Cert III or Cert IV qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication.
Strong mechanical, troubleshooting skills
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with production and maintenance
Commitment to workplace health and safety

Galaxy Personnel is currently seeking a Cabinet Maker to work with our client in the Joinery industry. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cabinet making.

This is a permanent full time role, Monday to Friday on Day shift. Hours to be worked between 6.00am and 6.00pm. The role is based in Bayswater. It will also involve site installations.

Ability to work to meet or exceed quality standards and client specifications

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good communication and time management skills
Committed to maintaining a safe, organised and clean work environment

Skills required

Completed apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Cabinet Making or Joinery
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cabinet Maker, preferably in a custom or bespoke furniture workshop
Strong knowledge of cabinet design, construction methods, materials and finishing techniques
Proficient in using a range of hand and power tools, including CNC machinery

Pay rate $50-$65 based on experience.

Galaxy Personnel is currently seeking experienced Project Engineers to join this leading food industry client based in the Northern suburbs. The role requires your proven experience in the Food industry as you will require proven experience in leading the technical side of Capex projects

and coordinating the coordination of all stakeholders across the team to oversee the success of this major installation project.

The role will require your proven experience in delivery of this major project, managing safety, quality, cost and timelines at all stages of project life cycle, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Duties and responsibilities:

Define the project team, project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Preliminary analysis for projects including building, utilities, services, equipment, and layout
Build the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
Supervising installation of equipment and be responsible for the budget and scope.
Ensure compliance with standards, local regulations, user requirements specifications
Secure contractors/equipment and labour required to complete the project as required
Contribution of all the stakeholders for project implementation.
Prepare and distribute the project documentation, final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance System.
Provide support and act as a liaison with the steering committee and all the project’s stakeholders.

As this is a project-based role the set tenure is likely to be 4-6 months therefore your immediate availability is required to hit the ground running.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter for an Afternoon shift role based in the East/South East Suburbs. The role will be working in the Pharmaceutical Industries and will require your proven experience working in an FMCG environment.

The role offers a great working environment, supportive Management and the opportunity to work with a committed team of professionals.

This position will undertake a range of mechanical engineering works including shift coverage, assisting with on site projects as well as covering preventative and reactive maintenance on these machines, continuous improvement projects and major equipment projects and repairs.

Duties will include:

Maintaining plant and equipment in good working order in accordance with work orders
Carrying out breakdown repairs and maintenance work
Identifying continuous improvement within equipment to ensure optimum performance
Updating system ensuring all work reports are properly maintained and logged in a timely manner
Ensuring GMP compliance, quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times
Excellent communication skills, ensuring smooth handovers across all shifts
Team Player, ensuring your strong relationships with all team members.
Proven experience in an FMCG environment

It is essential that you hold Australian qualifications in a Certificate III or IV in Mechanical Engineering, only candidates that have full working rights can be considered for these roles due to the permanent nature of this work.

Ideally we are seeking Mechanical Fitters with previous experience in a manufacturing maintenance role within the pharmaceutical or food industry with strong diagnostic and trouble shooting skills and have experience across pneumatics, hydraulics, machining and welding.
