Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter with a solid background in high-speed manufacturing environments to join this highly regarded manufacturer based in Melbourne’s Southeastern Suburbs.

The role will require your strong mechanical knowledge including troubleshooting, fault finding and diagnostic expertise, across various production machinery where you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining equipment as well as machinery overhauls and assisting on projects.

Our client located in Lilydale is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for ongoing work. This is on day shift 7:00am to 3:00pm, however will require the flexibility to move to afternoon shift.

Duties will include:-

Responsible for the timely accurate completion of all maintenance and breakdowns
Ensure that paperwork and documentation is recorded accurately and in accordance with company standards
Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to ensure optimal running of equipment and machinery
Checking parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using measuring instruments
Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools
Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines
Overhauling and repairing mechanical parts
Working in accordance with safety procedures and reporting any hazards
Perform low voltage electrical disconnect and reconnect electrical installation work (ideally)
Essential Criteria:-

Trade qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
Restricted Electrical licence (ideally)
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a Maintenance Fitter role.
Ability to follow Safe Operating Procedures
Abe to perform metal work and welding
Strong communication skills
Competent with Microsoft Office (email, Word and Outlook)
Technical ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical and machinery breakdowns.

Your role:

*Attend client sites providing assistance in the diagnostic solutions to machinery issues
