We currently have an URGENT need for qualified Maintenance Fitters & Industrial Electricians with proven background in a Manufacturing environment to cover Afternoon and Night Shift opportunities, these roles are labour hire and vary from short term to longer term but offering full-time hours.

To ensure your success you will require an immediate start and hold qualifications in a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering to ensure your success, ideally we are seeking candidates with a proven background in Food, Pharmaceutical, Packaging industries:

Duties include but not limited to:

Preventative and Breakdown maintenance
Troubleshooting and fault finding
Immediate availability
Availability to cover week-end overtime if required

Our client in the Eastern Suburbs is seeking a skilled and dedicated Boilermaker to join their team on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair boilers, pressure vessels, and other large metal structures.
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
Conduct inspections and tests to ensure high standards of quality and safety.
Work with various metals, welding equipment, and tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Trade qualification as a Boilermaker
Proven experience in a similar role, with strong practical knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
A commitment to maintaining a high standard of workplace safety.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters for various Labour Hire opportunities across the Melbourne Metropolitan area, we currently have vacancies available on all shifts. These roles are based in the food industry, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable production. Roles vary in tenure from 1 week to ongoing, with some fantastic opportunities that could lead to permanency.

What you’ll be doing

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of FOOD production equipment
Diagnose, troubleshoot faults
Liaise with production teams to understand operational requirements and minimise disruptions
Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures
Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all health and safety regulations

What we’re looking for

Qualified Fitter, with 3+ years’ experience with a Cert III or Cert IV qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication.
Strong mechanical, troubleshooting skills
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with production and maintenance
Commitment to workplace health and safety

Galaxy Personnel is a specialist provider of Trades personnel across the Manufacturing sector. We currently have a permanent full time role available for an experienced and Australian qualified A-Grade Electrician to work on Afternoon Shift with one of our leading clients specialising in the Food/Pharmaceutical industries. This role is based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Afternoon shift hours are 3.00pm – 11.00pm.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

Fault finding
Troubleshooting
Installation and Projects work

The successful candidate must have a current A GRADE Electrical license.
