About the role We are seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters for various Labour Hire opportunities across the Melbourne Metropolitan area, we currently have vacancies available on all shifts. These roles are based in the food industry, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable production. Roles vary in tenure from 1 week to ongoing, with some fantastic opportunities that could lead to permanency. What you'll be doing
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of FOOD production equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot faults
  • Liaise with production teams to understand operational requirements and minimise disruptions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and procedures
  • Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
  • Qualified Fitter, with 3+ years' experience with a Cert III or Cert IV qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication.

This is a permanent full time role, Monday to Friday on Day shift. Hours to be worked between 6.00am and 6.00pm. The role is based in Bayswater. It will also involve site installations. Attributes required:
  • Ability to work to meet or exceed quality standards and client specifications

Skills required

Galaxy Personnel is urgently seeking experienced Trades Assistants for some of our leading manufacturing clients across the Eastern & South East Suburbs.   The roles will require your mechanical expertise combined with your strong hands-on assembly skills.   You will be supporting the Mechanical Trades on site and therefore conducting a variety of duties including:  Key Responsibilities:
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Perform light welding tasks as required.
  • Contribute to facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with assembly work and be able to interpret basic drawings.
  • Work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with OH&S regulations.
