About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter & Boilermakers for various Labour Hire opportunities across the Southeastern Suburbs.  Galaxy Personnel is a specialist Labour Hire Provider across the Manufacturing sector with particular emphasis on the Food, Beverage, Packaging & Pharmaceutical industries.

Due to an increased demand and we are seeking Boilermakers/Fitter Welders to cover various labour hire opportunities over the next few months.  This includes short term labour hire, shut down works (12-hour shifts day & night) and shift coverage across all shifts.

If you have availability for Labour Hire or are seeking ongoing or permanent opportunities’, we currently have various roles available to fit your availability.

Duties include:

• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of FMCG production equipment.
• Shutdown works in a Food Manufacturing facility.
• Welding and Fabrication- MIG/TIG
• Pneumatics and Hydraulics

Background:

• Qualified Fitter, with 3+ years’ experience in a similar maintenance role, must have a strong food manufacturing industry background.
• A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Mechanical Fitting is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
• Effective communication skills to liaise effectively with production and maintenance.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Some roles will require 12-hour shifts day or night during shutdown periods.

• Background in Food/Packaging or Pharmaceutical required
