As a Maintenance Fitter/fabriactor, you will have the opportunity to work across some of Melbourne’s well-known brands including within the food, pharmaceutical, packaging  industries.

You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance support, including scheduled preventative maintenance, rapid response to breakdowns. Every task you tackle will help us maintain excellence in line with workplace safety standards.

Duties:

• Fabrication and TIG welding – project fabrication works
• Work closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting reliability and efficiency across production.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, breakdowns, and repairs in the maintenance system.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with site safety procedures, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and risk assessments.
• Always Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with production and quality teams to minimise disruption and ensure smooth operations.

Background:

• Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent.
• Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or similar high-compliance environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in fault finding, fabrication, and general machinery repairs.
• Understanding of GMP, HACCP practices highly desirable
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to TIG weld and fabricate as required
• Must be available for IMMEDIATE START.
