Maintenance Fitters– Manufacturing Industry (Full-Time) Southeastern Suburbs - Two Rosters Available 1- Fixed rotating N/S 12 hr shifts 2- Rotating D/S -N/S 12 hr shifts Galaxy Personnel is fortunate enough to be working with this well-known brand and are keen to secure experienced Maintenance Fitters who are keen to secure permanent full-time work in a role that offers overtime. We have various roster patterns available, to work around your lifestyle, experience within the Printing or packaging industries would be advantageous, but applicants with proven experience in machinery maintenance supporting production are encouraged to apply. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and production efficiency through preventative maintenance and fast, effective breakdown response. - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and carry out corrective maintenance to minimise downtime
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery and production lines
- Carry out general maintenance across plant equipment, utilities, and site services
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, SWMS, and risk assessments
- Follow GMP and HACCP requirements where applicable
- Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure smooth operations
- Trade qualified CERT III as a minimum
- Previous experience in high speed manufacturing highly desirable
- Strong fault-finding, fabrication, and mechanical repair skills
- Knowledge of GMP and HACCP practices (desirable)
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Proactive problem-solver with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must pass a medical
